Pollinator Protection

We offer the whole range of bee studies…

Not just recently, the effects of plant protection products on pollinators are in the focus of authorities and the general public alike. Therefore, it is mandatory for all plant protection products to demonstrate possible harmful effects on pollinators, such as honeybee (Apis mellifera), bumblebee (Bombus terrestris) or solitary bee species (Osmia spp.).

The first step in risk assessment is the evaluation of short-term acute effects after topical application or oral administration on either adult honeybees (OECD 213 & OECD 214) or adult bumblebees (OECD 246 & OECD 247). Additionally, long-term effects – either on individuals or on populations – are of increasing interest for scientists, companies and the public. Therefore, further test methods and official guidelines have been developed to assess the chronic effects of plant protection products on bee larvae (OECD 237, 7 days or OECD GD 239, 22 days) or adult bees (OECD 245).

From spring 2019, Noack Laboratorien offers not only acute and chronic adult bee and bumblebee studies but also chronic bee larvae studies over 22 days.

…including excellent in-house analytical service…

Supporting concentration control analytics are a vital point for conducting of studies with plant protection products. Reliable data demonstrate the applicability of the test design and validity of the obtained results. We offer state-of-the-art highly sensitive accompanying chemical analytics using LC-MS/MS or LC-QTOF. With more than 30 years of experience, we can analyze a wide range of active ingredients as well as degradation products. All chemical methods are fully validated following the most recent guidelines and specifications of regulatory authorities (SANCO/3029/99 rev. 4, SANCO/3030/99 rev. 4).

…and a client-oriented work procedure.

All our studies are conducted under GLP and supported by a broad range of experience in scientific work on plant protection products. We strive for complete transparency and a close communication during the course of your studies. Monthly status updates, guaranteed testing slots and real-time updates are only some examples of our customer service.
